Looking ahead: 2023 & beyond
At every step of our ESG journey, one fundamental question is our north star: How can we better serve the communities around us while improving the value we provide to our FlyMates, clients, payers and partners?
There’s no simple solution to this question, but its intent continues to guide us in the actions we take to deepen our commitments to the people and places that we support.
As we alluded to in the introduction to this report, ambitious innovation is required to spark positive change. To that end, Flywire is announcing an exciting new commitment as part of our ESG initiatives in 2023 and beyond.
Our partnership with Tomorrow’s Air demonstrates our commitment to taking direct actions to reduce our effects on the climate and aligns with our progress towards protecting and preserving our environment. Tomorrow’s Air makes it easy for travelers to participate in high quality, permanent solutions to climate change, and is a meaningful step towards building the next generation of conscious travelers for a more sustainable tourism industry.
Tomorrow's Air partners with travel companies around the world to fund climate conscious travel education and innovative solutions to remove and permanently store carbon dioxide emissions. Incubated by one of our strategic travel partners, The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), travelers are empowered to easily fund the education and carbon dioxide removal efforts.
The program supports pure technological carbon dioxide removal as well as hybrid nature-technological methods to directly capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it permanently. Flywire will offer our travel clients the ability to make carbon removal contributions directly within customers’ booking flows. The program can be customized, and even configured as a subscription to meet the needs of climate-conscious travelers. We believe the future of travel is sustainable, and look forward to scaling the Tomorrow’s Air program around the world.
As an organization we are committed to continually developing our sustainable tourism programs and initiatives. Partnering with Tomorrow's Air gives our guests the opportunity to be active participants in exciting new climate change solutions, while still getting to do what they love.

In addition to Tomorrow’s Air, we will continue to enhance our ESG programs and make new commitments across all of our pillars. For example, to keep strengthening our focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, our 2023 hiring targets will include bringing in Black and Latinx talent as 18% of our incoming U.S. hires, and for females to represent 22% of all tech hires globally. To nurture and train our FlyMates, we’ll continue to roll out new programs that not only provide new skills training, but also foster their engagement and productivity in a dynamic hybrid work environment. We’ll also deepen our commitment to social impact and community engagement. Our successful scholarship program will be entering its fourth year, and our ability to provide students access to life-changing education programs has been a driver for us to keep investing resources to sustain it.
We will also continue to partner with non-profit organizations like School the World, which aligns with our belief in the power of education, and whose programs continue to provide the most enriching corporate services trips for our global FlyMates. And finally, we’ll continue to augment our data privacy and security capabilities to keep our FlyMates, clients and payers digitally secure and compliant.
There’s a lot more work to do, and we look forward to continuing our ESG journey to help make a positive impact on the communities around us.
